Backup checks that read the data

Backup verification now checks the full selected archive and reports its scope separately from restore rehearsals.

Development record: October 17, 2026. Written retrospectively.

LiteLedger’s backup verification now reads and validates the contents of the full selected archive. Its result records the verification method, completion time and whether the check passed.

For file archives, the check covers every listed file’s size and checksum, together with the archive’s inventory. Missing or damaged contents fail the check.

Restore rehearsals are reported separately. They extract selected files and test them, including database integrity checks where applicable. The result identifies which files were exercised and does not claim that every database was restored.

Platform administrators can inspect verification results in the Backups panel.
